Treasured books from childhood serve as education and inspiration as we began to establish a value system and forge a relationship with the world around us. The Hawaiian Humane Society offers a "must read" list for kids, a collection of early childhood favorites that encourages humane values and aims to teach children kindness and compassion for all animals.

More than 11,000 children benefit from the organization's work in compassion and character education every year. Tag No. 73370. This female tiger-striped cat is called Tawny. She was found in late August and remains unclaimed at the humane society. If you have lost this unspayed female cat wearing a red collar, please visit the shelter to claim her.
