Two minors report sexual assaults

A 14-year-old girl told police that she was kidnapped and held for nearly two months by a man who also sexually assaulted her.

Police said the girl reported she was held against her will at a Pearl City home from late July until she managed to escape Wednesday. Police have a description of the suspect, a 33-year-old man, but no arrest had been made as of last night.

Police yesterday also arrested a 30-year-old Kalihi man on suspicion of sexually assaulting a 5-year-old girl.

Police said the girl told her guardian that she had been sexually assaulted by a man. The girl identified the suspect in a photo lineup and he was arrested yesterday afternoon.


INTERNET USER ARRESTED IN STING

Police yesterday arrested a 37-year-old Kailua man who they said had used the Internet to arrange to have sex with an undercover police officer.

The officer was posing as a girl and chatting on the Internet with the suspect, police said. The suspect arranged a meeting with the officer and expected to have sex with her, police said.

When the man showed up at a South Beretania address at about 1:50 p.m., he was arrested on suspicion of the electronic enticement of a child.


TACO BELL HELD UP IN 'EWA BEACH

Police are looking for a man who robbed the 'Ewa Beach Taco Bell about 8:15 a.m. yesterday.

Employees told police that the man approached the counter, pulled out a handgun and demanded money.

He left the fast-food outlet with an undisclosed amount of cash and got into a car containing two other men.

The car, described as a two-door hatchback, was last seen traveling down Papipi Road toward the "Hau Bush" area, police said.


MOPED RIDER, 18, CRITICALLY INJURED

An 18-year-old man who was hit by a car while riding a moped in the Pauoa area Wednesday night was in critical condition yesterday at The Queen's Medical Center.

Police traffic investigators said the moped rider was traveling west on Pauoa Road at 10:50 p.m. when the driver of a 1989 Toyota Camry approaching from the opposite direction attempted to make a left turn onto Pacific Heights Road and collided with the moped.


MANOA BURGLAR OPERATED OPENLY

Police are asking for help from the public in identifying and locating man wanted in connection with a burglary.

Neighbors reported seeing the man at a Manoa home between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday. They said he was at the home for several hours and even spoke with one of the neighbors. The neighbor tried to contact the homeowner but was unable to. When the owner returned, she discovered her house had been broken into and that several items were missing.

The man sought by police is believed to be in his early 20s, between 5 feet 6 and 5 feet 8, about 140 pounds, with dark blond hair, long sideburns and noticeably large ears.


RAPE INVESTIGATED IN WAHIAWA

Police are investigating a report filed by a 19-year-old woman who said she was sexually assaulted Wednesday in Wahiawa.

The woman told police she was sleeping at the home of a male acquaintance when she awakened about 5:30 a.m. to find him assaulting her.
