Stimulate your mind at today’s School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology open house at the University of Hawai'i-Mänoa.

The family-friendly event — themed “The Hot Spot for Cool Science!” — features entertaining and educational activities about volcanoes, tsunamis, the planets, hurricanes and more. Tours of state-of-the-art labs, interactive demonstrations, high-tech equipment displays and other attractions will give you an idea of what the UH faculty, students and staff are working on.

The SOEST open house happens only every other year, so get going! It’s free, too. Hours are from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in and around the
Pacific Ocean Science and Technology building, the Marine
Science Building and the Hawaiçi Institute of Geophysics building. www.soest.hawaii.edu/openhouse.
