University of Hawai'i transfer Sarah Mason is the Western Athletic Conference volleyball Player of the Week, the conference announced yesterday. Mason, a junior from Hilo, is the second Rainbow Wahine to earn the honor, after Victoria Prince.

Mason, an outside hitter, hit .411 last week in Hawai'i's wins at Louisiana Tech and New Mexico State, averaging 3.75 kills per game. She did not start either match. Of her team-high 19 kills against the Aggies, five came in the fifth game.

The Rainbow Wahine (9-6 overall, 3-0 WAC) are home this week to face Fresno State (2-11, 0-3) Friday and Nevada (9-5, 4-0) Saturday.

Hawai'i remained 11th in yesterday's CSTV/AVCA Coaches Top 25.
